Johnny Depp: “The jury gave my life back.”

Depp released a statement celebrating his victory in the defamation case against Heard.

“Six years ago, I saw a change in my life, that of my children, that of my family, that of my closest friends, and that of the people who have believed in me for many, many decades.

It all happens in a blink of an eye.

I was made to face false, very serious, and criminal charges via the media. This triggered a relentless barrage of hateful content. However, no charges were ever filed against me. It had already been around the globe twice in a nanosecond and profoundly impacted my life and career.

Six years later, I was granted my life back by the Jury. It is truly an honor.

After much thought, I decided to pursue the case. I knew the extent of the legal obstacles I would face and the unavoidable, global spectacle it would bring into my life.

The goal of this case was to expose the truth from the beginning. My children and all those who supported me have owed me the responsibility of speaking the truth to them. It is a relief to know that I can finally do this.

The outpourings of love, support, and kindness from all corners have overwhelmed me. I hope my quest for the truth will have helped others who are in my position and those supporting them. I hope the situation will return to innocence until proven guilty in both the courts and the media.

I want to recognize the great work of the Judge, jurors, court staff, and Sheriffs who sacrificed their time to reach this point. Also, my tireless and unwavering legal team, who helped me share the truth, are to be commended.

The best is yet ahead, and a new chapter has begun.
