Digital drawing can be among the more enjoyable activities you can do, draw anime, and for me, certainly. It’s as if you could draw whatever you’d like. At this moment, I’m sharing my experience about how to draw an Anime character using the Paint Tool Sai.
In essence, what do you mean by Paint Tool Sai? If you’re acquainted using Adobe Photoshop, they are identical (in regards to drawing, of course), and Photoshop can be used in different ways. If you are looking to draw an anime character, I would suggest trying using PaintTool Sai (Download URL).
If you’re already aware of the fundamentals of drawing anime characters and are just looking to move from the traditional method to digital, This could come in useful for you.
Draw Animation Using Paint Tools SA
To use the tools you need:
- Paint Tool Sai
- Graphics Tablet
- Music (so you won’t get bored)
- Last but not least, Remember patience
- To start, open Paint Tool Sai.
- Open”File > New. There will be this dialog box:
Enter the size you would like to use, based on the drawing’s page orientation, if it’s landscape or portrait.
Once you have finished, you can begin drawing a pattern and some of the guidelines for your sketch. It is recommended to choose a lighter shade to avoid altering the drawing’s outline (later). Also, ensure that you’re employing your PEN Tool.
Make sure to create an entirely new layer for each color or part that you do not wish to incorporate into a specific portion or part of the drawing. For instance, when coloring, make sure to create a separate layer for the color of hair, clothing, and so on.
In essence, I created the body language design, which is how most professional artists work to ensure they are sure that the body language used in their drawings is perfect. It is possible to use cross lines on your face to assist you in positioning your eyes and the lips, nose, etc. The circles are joints. Therefore, you shouldn’t be able to resist aligning your body parts.
Then, I used another color to sketch the details (such as hair, face clothes, etc.) before applying a black shade to the outline of the official sketch.
VOILA! Continue to outline your ideas, and you’ll end up with something like this:
But, that’s not the case.
Next, you must trace the official outline using black ink.
Note that I have changed the hand position. I like this style, LOL. After you’ve outlined, you need to apply the BRUSH tool to apply the colors.
To ensure that you don’t lose track of the colors that you’re using, create an entirely new layer to represent the color palettes that’s the big circles that contain various shades. Create a separate layer for each part of the color palette, as I’ve already mentioned.
Finish the color scheme of the drawing, and you’ll have:
Blending the colors to create shadowy effects, you can use the AIRBRUSH tool to apply the colors. And then apply the BLUR tool for more seamless mixing.
In essence, I’ve taught you the basics of using Paint Tool Sai, intended for those new to the program. If you’re looking to go into more detail, Adobe Photoshop is the most effective option to do it.
If you would like to convert it into .psd, open the file, choose Save As …, and select PSD.
Make it your own and apply some effects with Photoshop or alter the angle. You’ll have this:
I hope you appreciate my tutorial.
In the next post, I’ll explain how to blend colors and some methods in greater detail. Keep in drawing
