Ever wondered what it was like to live in a different world? India is one of the most extraordinary countries in the world. Many amazing facts about India aren’t well-known and not widely known. India is a country with a lot of land and people. It is, therefore, difficult for everyone to find mind-blowing facts about India.

India is the largest democracy worldwide. 26th January 2016 will mark 66 years of democracy.

These laws, rights and privileges that the Indian Constitution provides are just a few things we are not aware of.

THE INDIAN CONSTITUTION HAS THE LONGEST WORLD CONSTITUTION

Constitutions cover different levels of the organization, including companies and unincorporated associations. The Constitution of an international organization established by a treaty is its Constitution. This would determine how the organization will be run. The Constitution of India, which contains 444 articles, 12 schedules, and 118 amendments, is the longest written constitution of any sovereign nation. It also has 146,385 words in its English language version.

A TOTAL OF 283 MEMBERS OF THE CONSTITUTION ASSEMBLY SIGNED THE CONSTITUTION

A meeting of various committees resulted in forming a drafting commission under Dr Bhim Rao, chief architect of the Constitution of India. The committee then prepared a draft constitution submitted to the Assembly in November 1947. However, it took over two years to finish the work due to debates and amendments. The process was finally completed on 26th November 1949 when the Constituent Assembly adopted it.

ORIGINAL HAND-WRITTEN COPIES ARE KEPT IN HELIUM-FILLED CASES IN OUR LIBRARY.

This book is one of 1000 photolithographic copies of the Constitution of India. These illustrations depict styles from different subcontinent civilizations, from the Indus Valley’s prehistoric Mohenjodaro to the present. Prem Behari Narain Raiza did the calligraphy for this book. Nandalal Bose illustrated it and other artists, published in Dehra Dun, then photolithographed at Survey of India Offices.

Five-Year Plans are integrated with centralized national economic programs. In the late 1920s, Joseph Stalin created the first Five Year Plan for the Soviet Union. Many capitalist countries and communist states adopted them. Because it played a major role in the launch of Indian development following the Independence, the First Five-Year Plan is one of the most important.

The PREAMBLE to OUR CONSTITUTION was INSPIRED BY PREAMBLE to THE CONSTITUTION of THE UNITED STATES.

The principle of popular sovereignty is an important aspect of government, reflected in both Constitutions. The Constitution of India contains a quote that illustrates popular sovereignty: “We, the people of India… do at this moment adopt, enact and give ourselves this Constitution.”

This statement shows that the final power rests with the people and that they are the primary source of power for the Constitution. This principle will be reinforced because elections to the House of the People and the Legislative Assembly of each state will be decided based on adult suffrage.

AMERICAN CONSTITUTION HAS ALSO ADOPTED THE FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS CONCERNED BY OUR CONSTITUTION

The Indian Constitution recognizes nine fundamental human rights for all citizens. The Indian Constitution and the United States of America share many similarities. These two constitutions have some similarities in terms of the principles they share. The Constitution of India and the United States Constitution both reflect many principles of government.

THE INDIAN CONSTITUTION IS ONE OF THE WORLD’S MOST IMPORTANT CONSTITUTIONS

It had only been amended 94 times in the 62 years since its adoption. Our Constitution has been amended 118 times as of today.

An officer can only make an arrest. The police officer must justify the arrest. Those in custody include the right to tell their family about the arrest and the obligation to provide the necessary facilities.

  • The right to be informed about the reasons for his arrest. This information is essential so that he can prepare his defence.
  • A right to consult with and have his case defended by a lawyer of choice. The court in India is not obliged to hire a lawyer unless the request is made.
  • You have the right to appear before a magistrate in less than 24 hours. Only a judicial order can extend this right.
  • Freedom from illegal detention Except for an order by the magistrate, no accused can be held beyond 24 hours.

INDIA’S DISTRICT COURTS AND LOWER COURTS HAVE 2.18 CRORE CAES CURRENT

More than 2 million cases are pending in the nation’s district courts. Twelve states have more than 5 lakh cases to decide. On average, one case is waiting for a conclusion for ten years. More than 20 million cases — nearly 10% — have been filed in district courts. Senior citizens are fighting for over 3% of these cases.

22.2 MILLION PEOPLE ARE CURRENTLY UNDER TEST IN INDIA, WHICH IS WAY MORE THAN PEOPLE IN NETHERLANDS.

The Salman Khan hit and run case, pending in India’s lower and district courts for 13 years, was one among 18.5 million criminal cases. Bollywood’s star, 50, was also one of the 22.2 million people currently on trial. Due to a lack of judges, prosecutors and courts and slow procedures, more Indians are being tried than in the Netherlands and Kazakhstan.
